GROW Enrichment Board of Directors โ€“ At-Large Member

๐ŸŒฟ Join GROW Enrichment in Cultivating Change! ๐ŸŒฟ

Are you passionate about environmental action and community development? GROW Enrichment is seeking an observant and highly organized individual to join our team as an at-large board member.

GROW Enrichment is a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization cultivating a movement toward sustainable land use and increased food security for Nashville. We provide sustainability-focused education to both children and adults at our project site within Two Rivers Park. GROW offers programs aimed at increasing awareness and protection of native species, promoting conservation of earthโ€™s resources, teaching skills to cultivate land in our urban landscape, and providing positive experiences in nature. Our programs serve all ages and demographics through homeschool enrichment, community outreach programs, individual and corporate volunteer opportunities and training, and public school field trips. As the stewards of Nashville's first food forest, we're passionate about harnessing the power of nature to nourish our community and educate current and future generations.

ROLE OVERVIEW

At-large board members serve in a less structured way, while still being deeply involved in GROWโ€™s mission. You may have an area of expertise where you can serve best, or you may not know what you want to do but still want to help. You will attend regular board meetings, contribute to special events and activities, and volunteer time while having a voice in decisionmaking for GROW. Board member positions are a two-year commitment with varying monthly hours depending on need. Our nonprofit board is volunteer-based, and thrives on the generous commitment and vision of its members.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Join regular board meetings and participate in organization activities such as work days, volunteer recruitment, representation at community events, and/or other areas as needed or as interest is expressed by you.

2. Be a positive representative of GROW in the community and help to spread the word about us.

3. Assist in operations of the board as needed. This may include a particular area of expertise you have where you would like to more heavily contribute. Examples include but are not limited to: marketing, social media, landscaping and lawn care, permaculture knowledge, construction and trade work, education and curriculum, mindfulness and meditation, naturalist, photography, biology and ecology, etc. The sky is the limit here!

QUALITIES

๐Ÿ” OBSERVANT NATURE: As the eyes and ears of our board, you'll be responsible for accurately recording meeting minutes and capturing key discussions and decisions.

๐Ÿ’ช EAGER TO CONTRIBUTE: You may not know in what capacity, but you want to be involved! You have an interest in contributing in a unique way, whether via guidance or through your own expertise and knowledge.

๐Ÿ“‹ HIGHLY MOTIVATED: Be willing to step up to help as needed, and seek unique ways to contribute based on your own passions and skills.

๐ŸŒฑ PASSION FOR ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION: We're seeking someone who shares our dedication to using interactive and experiential methods to educate and conserve native species and community resources in our urban landscape.
