Are you passionate about environmental action and community development? GROW Enrichment is seeking a motivated and energetic individual to join our team in the critical role of fundraising chairperson.
GROW Enrichment is a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization cultivating a movement toward sustainable land use and increased food security for Nashville. We provide sustainability-focused education to both children and adults at our project site within Two Rivers Park. GROW offers programs aimed at increasing awareness and protection of native species, promoting conservation of earth’s resources, teaching skills to cultivate land in our urban landscape, and providing positive experiences in nature. Our programs serve all ages and demographics through homeschool enrichment, community outreach programs, individual and corporate volunteer opportunities and training, and public school field trips. As the stewards of Nashville's first food forest, we're passionate about harnessing the power of nature to nourish our community and educate current and future generations.
GOALS
🍃 INNOVATIVE IMPACT: Help recruit donors and secure funding for initiatives that positively impact urban landscapes and support sustainability initiatives.
📚 EDUCATIONAL EMPOWERMENT: Join us in providing high-quality environmental science education to students in Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS), homeschoolers, and the wider community. Our project site isn't just a park – it's a living classroom where immersive learning comes to life.
🌟 STEWARDSHIP IN ACTION: Step in as a caretaker of our public park space and engage with volunteers, community members, and park visitors to make sure our green oasis continues to thrive for years to come.

ROLE OVERVIEW
As fundraising chairperson, you'll play a crucial role in securing funds for our organization and the effective execution of our mission. We're looking for someone with excellent leadership abilities, strong communication skills, and fundraising knowledge. Board member positions are a two-year commitment with varying monthly hours depending on need. Our nonprofit board is volunteer-based, and thrives on the generous commitment and vision of its members.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop and execute fundraising strategies including special events, sponsorship opportunities, grassroots fundraising, and other avenues. Connect with corporations to uncover donation opportunities and gifts of all types.
2. Work closely with the board grant writer and executive director to determine funding needs
3. Collaborate with the treasurer and president to ensure funds are distributed appropriately and that needs are met.
4. Maintain and build connections within the community and be a cheerleader for GROW.
QUALITIES
🔍 COMMUNICATION: You are comfortable communicating with others about the mission of GROW Enrichment and connecting with those who want to be involved, and be able to advocate for the nonprofit’s needs. Ability to network and generate excitement!
📋 CREATIVITY: You are skilled at coming up with new and exciting ways to attract interest in our mission when planning campaigns while maintaining fundraising ethics and integrity.
TECHNOLOGY MINDED: You are great at using technology to support fundraising goals and you are comfortable learning how to use new tools. You have some experience with using social media and online platforms to fundraise.
