Are you passionate about environmental action and community development? GROW Enrichment is seeking an observant and highly organized individual to join our team as board secretary.
GROW Enrichment is a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization cultivating a movement toward sustainable land use and increased food security for Nashville. We provide sustainability-focused education to both children and adults at our project site within Two Rivers Park. GROW offers programs aimed at increasing awareness and protection of native species, promoting conservation of earth’s resources, teaching skills to cultivate land in our urban landscape, and providing positive experiences in nature. Our programs serve all ages and demographics through homeschool enrichment, community outreach programs, individual and corporate volunteer opportunities and training, and public school field trips. As the stewards of Nashville's first food forest, we're passionate about harnessing the power of nature to nourish our community and educate current and future generations.
GOALS

📚 EDUCATIONAL EMPOWERMENT: Join us in providing high-quality environmental science education to students in Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS), homeschoolers, and the wider community. Our project site isn't just a park – it's a living classroom where immersive learning comes to life.

ROLE OVERVIEW
As board secretary, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our organization and the effective execution of our mission. We're looking for someone with excellent administrative skills, a keen eye for detail, and a deep commitment to environmental stewardship. Board member positions are a two-year commitment with varying monthly hours depending on need. Our nonprofit board is volunteer-based, and thrives on the generous commitment and vision of its members.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Accurately record meeting minutes, ensuring that all discussions and decisions are documented.
2. Actively participate in board discussions and decision-making processes, offering valuable insights and perspectives.
3. Prepare comprehensive meeting agendas, ensuring that all agenda items are addressed in an efficient and timely manner.
4. Publish meeting minutes to all board members after each meeting, keeping everyone informed and accountable.
5. Participate in community outreach activities and group development projects.
