  • Outdoor Skills: Develop hands-on abilities like plant identification, wildlife tracking, and eco-friendly practices.

Grow as a Leader:

  • Social-Emotional Learning: Practice empathy, active listening, and conflict resolution to become an effective team player.

  • Outdoor Challenges: Engage in fun activities that promote problem-solving, resilience, and self-confidence.

  • Reflect and Celebrate: Regularly share insights, reflect on progress, and celebrate the positive impact of your work.

Parent volunteer commitment

GROW is founded on building community! For that reason, parents are asked to participate in the class periodically throughout the semester.

Parents are required to sign up for a volunteer rotation to assist our team of experienced educators during class. The number of classes per parent will depend on the number of students in the class, but it will likely be 1-2 classes. You will receive a Signup Genius form prior to the start of the semester with available days.

WHY WE ASK PARENTS TO VOLUNTEER:

  • Helps keep the cost of our programs low, while providing ample adult supervision

  • Builds a sense of community and connects families with each other on a deeper level

  • Parents get to go with us on hikes, assist kids in the garden, and experience the joy of nature with their child and friends

  • Expands your own knowledge and skillset while having fun with our crew

Volunteering outside of class

There’s more to GROW than just our homeschool enrichment programs! Parents and children are invited to help us cultivate sustainable practices and conservation by participating in various efforts with us. Keep an eye out as we announce new opportunities and events!
